August 3 check-in

1. No post—next poem needed tinkering plus I’m looking to build up a cushion. Tinkered, then worked another poem’s literal prose to rough verse. On the side-project, took yesterday’s literal prose to polished verse. Still on target for the week.

2. Revised one poem based on new-to-me commentary. (That’s one out of forty. This stretch goal is looking pretty darn stretchy to me.) Also, found a commentary on the collection as a whole that seems worth reading carefully so bookmarked it. Met goal.

3. While plinking around, finally figured out how to turn an 8-bar loop I’ve been playing with into a song by varying the strum patterns, which also gave me a title. So I wrote that down, with tabs and melody and first draft lyrics that need hella polish. Which took up a full 30 minutes, so met goal yays.

I seem unable to do both at the same time. I swam for 30-40 min and walked to the place, which amounts to another 40-60 min walking, but I did nothing else.

 

BG:

Not even that.



Hopefully today I'll be more productive.
