My goals for October are simple:
  • Draw 31 interpretations of Joan of Arc for Inktober (and post them on tumblr)

  • Write the script for issue 1 of the Upcoming Webcomic.

I have other things I would like to do if possible, but these two are the main goals.

I started another My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, this one gen and intended to be short, because that's the way my plotkittens/inspirations tend to roll. *sigh*

I'm posting a bit of the Weiß Kreuz WIP that's been coming to me in disconnected chunks. First it was about the bit at the beginning, then the intended conversation afterward started becoming longer and more prominent... This piece is the beginning of the story and might cause a feeling of ficcus interruptus. (Writing fight choreography is haaaard). The name "Heathens" refers to something Schuldig tells Nagi later in the story.

Copied my edited introduction into both production files; setting it aside now, with a last proofread to come during production. Marked up poet bios and entered changes. Compiled a new ebook file and loaded it to my phone to start a proofreading pass on the translations and notes. Did not get to working on the cover because, while I did indeed have downtime during the long-ass meeting that was long, my crappy work laptop battery ran out.

For accountability, here's the first three paragraphs of the introduction:

Introduction: about this Kokinshu thing )

Plan for today: Proofread the first half of spring (that is, the first of the six books in this translation), and write a description for cover copy/online listings. Stretch: If I have time tonight after the kid's bedtime, tinker with the cover.

Oct 3: Some knitting happened! Some quilting happened! No pics because in-progress quilt pics will look basically the same, just with fewer pins as I get further along.

Oct 4 plans: Household chores, sadly. That bathroom isn't going to clean itself, no matter how much I scowl at it. Neither will the dishes transport themselves back into the cabinets. Knitting will possibly/probably happen, though.

Fandom and stuff:
Saiyuki - 58, not sure about the rating, everything is very subtle... PG-13? (Untitled)
Format: Ficlet
Warnings: None
Notes: This was sparked by indelicateink's comment about Hakkai and Gojyo living in a lighthouse. I'm leaving a lot of things unsaid, let me know if it's understandable anyway or if it's hard to get what's going on. Unbetaed.

#95 - Notebook
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Lalli Hotakainen, Mikkel Madsen, Reynir Árnason

Hmmm, I don't know that anyone else here follows SSSS. It's a great webcomic, though it starts slowly.

(I seem to be falling into a pattern of reporting on yesterday's work before starting on today's, which... isn't quite what I'd envisioned, but here we are.)

More character design yesterday: Nagi, Mamoru, Ouka, Sakura. Now I kind of want an AU where they're in a GANG. But they're not in a gang in this (or even necessarily on the same sides). But they are dressed and styled now, so there's that.

Tonight: more character design! Probably Ran and Aya, maybe Momoe if time allows. (I'm looking at that clock. I'm thinking time doesn't allow.)

Thanks again for all your support! It's certainly keeping me going!

Yesterday, I wrote 67 words on a Calvin and Hobbes prompt. Today, I wrote another 500+ words on that and wrote nearly 700 words on a prompt for the Old Kingdom series - Garth Nix.

The Old Kingdom story might be done. I need to look at it again when I'm not about to fall asleep. The Calvin and Hobbes story isn't done but might get there soon. I will post links in future entries if I finish either.

OMG! Words came out of my head and into the word processor. Fictober was a good choice. :)

Oct 1: 'Can you feel this?' )

* * *

Oct 2: 'People like you have no imagination' )

* * *

Oct 3: 'How can I trust you?' )

It feels good. :) And I'm only a day behind! But holy shit it's been a long time since I posted anything on DW; I had to look up how to do the cuts!
