My current plan is to post progress reports first thing weekday mornings, and on weekends if I had time to do anything.

Yesterday, made one pass through the introduction, marking as I went. It'll need at least one more pass for tone/attitude and flow.

Also, took my provisional cover image and cropped it to size as a blank for laying out. Plan is for the ebook version, use the same style/format as my last couple books, then see how well that works for the print version -- I suspect for that, I'll want to adjust layout to make it more like my much older printbook. And to lighten the background. Or maybe fade the upper part?

Today's plan: Enter changes in intro and, if time, make another edit pass.

I'm probably going to be checking in the day after for each day this month. I tend to do most of my writing in the hours right before bed and don't want to stop then to post here.

Yesterday's 'do some work' assignment was trying to get an old WIP moving again. I managed one new sentence and a couple of word tweaks. I also figured out why I stopped writing the dratted thing-- I'm bored by the prospect of where it seems likely to go. I'm going to add some notes to the document and let the whole thing stew. It's possible that part of my not getting anywhere with it yesterday was due to me being exhausted, but it's also possible that I'm not going at it from the right angle.

Or maybe it wants to be epic length, and I'm acting in self-preservation by not getting in too deep.

I'll see how today goes.

I'm really hoping it's okay that none of my goals are fandom-oriented. I really need some manner of accountability and I hope this works. (Of course I will delete if this isn't cool.)

Goals: Finish quilt1, begin and complete quilt2, finish Galder sock2

Oct 1: purchased backing fabric for quilt1 and squared off wonky edges.

Plan for Oct 2: cut backing fabric and batting, pin the quilt sammich together.
secondary goal: get an icon for DW

Yesterday I did a quick doodle on an ACEO card that I promptly scrapped. I did try though, so I'm calling it a win because I hadn't picked up a pencil to try and draw since July.

Today I have a concert to go to (Florence and the Machine!!!) so I don't know that I will accomplish much but I'm gonna try for a flashfic and see where that gets me.

...I'm very happy so see that people are involved in this and they are doing (metaphorical) shit, even if it's just supporting other people. But I've noticed that not everybody made a post, so I just wanted to remind you that it's okay to get into gear late or something. Even if you skip a day, that's fine, the important thing is not getting discouraged or thinking that not posting one day is failing at the challenge. It is not. You can jump in at any point. Skipping is not really recommended, but it's also no excuse to tell yourself "well, now there's no sense in continuing anymore". The fuck there's not. In what there is no sense is in putting yourself down. Today is another day, so go for it.

I joined the live webinar put on by Kristina of ArtfulCareerAcademy.com. I'll catch the replay later, as Thea-kitty found (or demonstrated to my satisfaction terror, at least) during the webinar that if she leaps onto the dryer, she can then leap into a gap between the basement wall and ceiling...

I haven't done fiber arts today and I shall not. *sneezes three times in a row, blows epic quantity of mucus into kleenex* I am not sure I can decontaminate yarn I can't machine wash!

OK, this could be spoiler-ish for the last published bit of the series (which was still made public some 2 years ago, IIRC).
