23-25 March check-in

Rested, but still overdid it Saturday -- throat is much better, but I'm still coughing up gobs and generally wiped. Got nothing done on Project 3, which required brain, but for Project 4 did ransack another old anthology for material and formatted into an ebook the two-dozen poems tapped so far for the first section. (Preliminary outline is four sections, for story poems taking place on/near shore, sailing the open sea, weathering storms, and "The Deeps" for underwater/mythic/legendary stuff.) Loaded that on my phone and started reading through for a) do I really want to include it and b) coding/formatting. Came up with a working title of The First League Out.

Next goals: Am still wiped, and the day-job takes precedence. If I can read a few more poems from Project 4 that'll count as a win.

The hilarious thing about cutting strips of white fabric is how quickly my brain goes to "cutting sheets into strips to help the War Effort." (the Valdemaran-Karse war? WWI? who knows?)

Phrased another way, I have many strips of white fabric ready to be cut into the appropriate shapes.

Monday is a jerk, work-for-pay is difficult, but we've got this, team! You can do it, I believe in you!

I have the first two pages roughed out in the intro to a vignette. Schuldig- (and Crawford-) centric.

I was looking back through some X/1999 manga and that is some Serious Drama. I'm going to have to work up to the billowing trenchcoats I guess. (I'm realizing there is a character--whose name escapes me at the moment [my copies are Japanese; they weren't available in English when I bought 'em. I only really know the characters through the anime, tbh]--who looks like Crawford, and I have to scan this so we can point and laugh, but I am way too exhausted to do this tonight. But trust.)

March 25th - Progress, but not much

Today, unafraid of the terrible weather, I put on my wonderful rainjacket and went to the gas station to pump some air into my bike's tyres. Apparently, my knee is good enough to bike now, and the doctor insisted that I should flex it often and that biking was a great exercise for me to do, so I tried that. It was only a five minute ride, and my knee only started to hurt a little bit at the end of it and the pain disappeared completely when I got home (I mean, when I stopped biking). So, yay, I can bike!
