29 October check-in

Did nothing on my stated goals. Instead, I a) worked on the CSS/HTML coding of the ebook, trying to fix validation errors in the .epub file, and b) uploaded updated files for one previous book to KDP + Smashwords. (Pro-tip: The <u> tag is invalid in a .epub -- you have to use styling to underline.)

The next few days, getting shit done is going to be hard -- tonight there's Stuff Happening, tomorrow is Halloween, and then I'm a single parent for a week. Will try for a little bit each day.

Goals for 30 Oct: Fix ebook formatting, confirm it validates, and upload other revised books (may not get to one). Stretch: Tweak/finalize ebook cover.

Last night I got no crafting done and no words written. Because I'm house-and-pet sitting! I get to hang out with dogs and a cat for one more night!

Tonight: try to get words in? Still pet-sitting, so it's unlikely, but I can try.

Notes: 100 words. Bar Kappara's revenge for not getting a invitation to the late antiquity wedding of the year was to (a) write rude curses on the gate and (b) spoil the dinner thrown to apologise to him for not inviting him. Rabbi Judah threw another big party, and as the meal was served Bar Kappara stood up, announced he just wanted to say a few words first and then told three hundred stories about foxes. When asked why, he sniffily said he didn't want people saying he'd come for a free meal, and he just wanted to rub it in that he should have been invited with his colleagues the day before. (When he would presumably have told his fox stories at the wedding reception . . .)
