I just published a book and what the next project will be is still hazy, so by default the Shit That Needs Doing is learning Chinese -- which, to be honest, I've been slacking on of late. Ultimate goal is tourist-level facility by summer. To that end, my commit is do either three (every weekday) or two (every weekend) of the following:

- Complete a lesson or a review in both Duolingo and Hello Chinese.
- Flash card session (at least 50 cards) in Pleco.
- ETA: Acceptable substitution: review or new chapter of the hanzi memorization book (title is in other room, to be edited in when I get a chance).
- Translate poetry, which can be either:
- Get 4-8 lines of a Tang poem into literal prose sense, or
- Get 4-8 lines of literal prose into English poetry.
- Graded reading practice (could be in Du Chinese, Pleco, or paper book).
- ETA: Also acceptable: reading a commentary on a Chinese poem.
- Read a chunk of grammar/idioms, either Mandarin or Classical.
