Not much done -- crunchy day at work and adulting in the evening. Did read through the proposal for Project 3 and made a few corrections, plus there's one part that feels awkward/off/not quite right -- need to think on it a day or two and come back.

Goals for today: Still crunchy, so I may not get much done. Project 3 book research + update cover letter. Stretch: Identify the editor to address it to.

I'm stalling and I'm not sure why. I have a plan that will work really well. I know I can do the thing is slow stages. I know I can do the thing, period. Why, brain? Why are we stalling on this? We're close to being able to sew blocks!

Fighting with one's own brain is hard. We've got this, team! Any progress is better than none. We can do a little bit.

* Finish an embroidery project
Not a single stitch. I'll likely dive in over the weekend.

* Finish 3 [community profile] genprompt_bingo fics for a line (1/3)
No progress on these yet, but I'm about to open Scrivener so we'll see.

* Finish character dossiers for my novel
I spent an hour on the phone with a brilliant friend. She liked the idea I had for character motivation for an antagonist, which is great! She also found the elephant stumbling around my plan and crushing things, which while helpful also means I am now wrangling with a lot of questions I don't know how to answer (basically: okay, so the protagonists burn the system down because they have feelings about it; what now? That's pretty much going to topple society. How are they going to deal with that and with people who decide that their feelings don't get to do this thing?)

* Write on 26 days: 17/26
So much thought work, so few words committed to paper, but the thought work counts and the words are about to happen too.

* Read 4 outstanding library books before the due date (4/4)
No reading yet today.

* 10-day meditation streak: 20/10
I have a shiny new Fitbit and it has breathing exercises, so I did one today. I think I prefer my meditation app, but I did spend a few minutes meditating, so that was a worthy effort.

Okay:

Written like this sounds like a lot, but it was really not, I mostly spent the day fucking THINKING )

I also managed to book a house for a friend's 40th anniversary. I had to register into airbnb and it took fucking ages. Plus coordinating the group and getting their data and everything. I hate doing this stuff. I also had to check plane tickets, and bus tickets, and train tickets and any other kind of transportation to find the cheapest option because he lives IN THE FUCKING ASS OF WALES. But he's one of my best friends and I really think it's worth the money (and the stress), even if I have to clean toilets next month to be able to eat. But, yeah, lots of time flew that way today.
